Inspiration

Drawing from the Buddhist legend of the Seven Treasures and Chinese dragon culture. The Lotus Sutra describes the Seven Treasures as symbols of wisdom and blessings in the Pure Land. Seven chalcedony stones are meticulously inlaid into the wood, while hand-set aluminum wire evokes the shimmering scales of a dragon.

Appreciation

The centerpiece is an extraordinarily rare piece of naturally-shaped ebony. Its organic rises and curves suggest a dark dragon awakening from chaos. Seven translucent chalcedony stones are embedded along the form, casting prismatic light—from honey amber to brown, green, agate, bright yellow, tiger's eye, to golden.
